Highlights from The Special Event 2008
The Special Event is the world's largest tradeshow and conference for professionals who produce events (weddings, parties, corporate events, celebrations). Successful event planners must keep up with the latest trends, techniques and products and use their creativity to produce stunning and unique events throughout the year. The Special Event has become a complete resource for event professionals...offering event products and services of over 300 vendors on the exhibit hall floor, a comprehensive education program with over 110 event courses in 8 tracks, and 6 showcasing events that allow attendees to see working models of a world class events.
The Special Event 2008 took place in Atlanta, January 15-18th, 2008. Despite unusual weather patterns that included snow and freezing temperatures, attendance exceeded expectations and exhibitors were astonished by the number of buyers at the show. One exhibitor commented:" This was our first appearance at The Special Event show and the experience was wonderful! During the show we got over 250 strong leads from owners, vice presidents, and real decision makers. In fact, after the first day of exhibition we already had people calling us that night, that wanted to include our hologram technology into their proposals!"
This year's showcasing events graced some of Atlanta's top venues including the celebrated Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coke, the historical Fox Theater and the Omni Hotel. The events, each of which hosted over 1200 attendees each, included fantastic entertainment, excellent food and elegant décor. The Special Event 2008 culminated with the Gala Awards and Celebration where producers of the world's top events of 2007 received the Gala Award- the event industry's most prestigious award.
NEW PROCEDURE PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Please note Willcall at the Showcasing Event is ONLY for tickets that have not previously been picked up at registration. Willcall tickets must be picked up only on the day of the Showcasing Event with the original credit card used to purchase the tickets and a state issued picture ID. On the day of the Showcasing Event, all applicable tickets must be picked up at the same time at Willcall. Not being able to pick up your tickets from Willcall because you do not have the above items is not grounds for a refund. If your Showcasing Event ticket has been picked up and printed at registration, there will be no reprints and admittance will not be granted if your ticket has been lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. A ticket is a revocable license. Show Management may, without a refund, revoke this license or refuse admission for noncompliance with these terms or disorderly conduct.
