Table 6 Productions

Seven years ago Shannon Wilson and her longtime friend, Heather Allen, saw a unique opportunity to break into the industry. Weddings were becoming mundane, monotonous and quite honestly... dull! After attending yet another lack-luster, unorganized wedding they realized the need for their youthful, fresh style. Developing creative ideas? Easy. Planning flawless events? Piece of cake. Deciding on a name that portrayed their persona? HARD! After brainstorming for what seemed liked forever they took it back to basics. They were seated at "Table 6" during their revelation. Table 6 Productions was born and over time they became a group affectionately known as "The 6 Chicks".

Heather, a Tampa Native, attended Florida State University to become a broadcast journalist and realized this just might not be for her. “I got involved in planning the corporate Christmas Parties and other social events, and loved it!” says Heather Allen. As she ventured through the process of planning her own wedding, it provided an outlet to explore her true passion – planning events!

Shannon, a Florida native, moved to Tampa after graduating from the University of Florida. Her first introduction to the world of weddings was when she opened her own wedding stationery and gift boutique. While helping brides select invitations and paper items she found herself casually helping them plan other aspects of their weddings. It wasn't until attending that life-changing wedding that she picked up on the fact that she preferred planning over paper! Her ambition, coupled with a fabulous concept, is what pushed her to the top of the industry.

Shannon's talents were blooming and people were noticing. Her planning expertise and unique concepts were featured on Lifetime's "Get Married" segments, and her trend-setting designs landed her in magazines across the country. Shannon was approached in early 2008 by WE TV’s Platinum Weddings regarding a South Beach-infused wedding she was planning. It was all uphill from there. In 2009, Shannon was awarded a Spotlight Award for East Coast's Event Planner of the Year. It soon became obvious that Table 6 had found its niche and was ready to expand. Two hometown markets have turned into a presence in seven major markets across the country. "We are adamant about maintaining the innovative, spunky image of Table 6 Productions. Not everyone is cut out to be a 6 Chick. We decided to surround ourselves with innovative talent," says Shannon. Today she spends her time not only perfecting every last detail, but also teaching the 'Professional Wedding Planning" course at the University of South Florida. "I see myself in many of my students. Not everyone has what it takes to succeed. You have to be ambitious, detail-oriented and be able to think outside the box. Mix those attributes with a dash of flair and you just might find yourself on the path to event planning success!"
