TSE 2010 in New Orleans
Join us for The Big Event in the Big Easy…the Special Event from
January 12th to 15th, 2010 in the Morial Convention Center. Event
planners recognize that in a recession, more than ever, it’s critical
to interface with fellow professionals and colleagues. In the event
industry, one of the biggest resources for maintaining a healthy
business is the influx of new ideas, creativity and networking
opportunities that The Special Event provides. That’s why we’re
expecting more attendees and a more vibrant exhibit hall at The
Special Event 2010 in New Orleans.

The Special Event 2009 Thrives, Gives Back and Receives Important Industry Recognition in a Difficult Economic Climate
The Special Event 2009 in San Diego (January 26-30) offered thousands of visiting event professionals the opportunity to absorb new industry trends, tools and techniques and network with colleagues about how to best survive in a tough economy. Despite the show’s timing, occurring in perhaps the worst month of the recession to date, total attendance matched last year’s numbers in Atlanta and the show floor was sold out.
• Over 360 exhibiting companies displayed thousands of event products that event professionals use throughout the year to create private, university, non-profit and corporate events, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs and virtually any type of celebration.
• TSE 2009 offered event professionals over 100 practical educational sessions that allowed them to keep up with the latest trends and learn how to run their businesses in a cost efficient way without sacrificing quality. This year’s emphasis on practicality and economy was a common thread running through all the classes from catering to floral and wedding trends.
• Each year, the Special Event features several showcasing events which offer real world examples of how the world’s top event professionals organize their events. This year, the focus was on simplicity with elegance or “how to do more with less in a bad economy”. The newly introduced Master’s Program and Brunch was a combination of networking event and a brainstorming session creating a unique opportunity for the world’s top event leaders to get together in one venue and discuss common business concerns and trends.
• TSE Gives Back: Introducing an Inspired Model for the Tradeshow Industry - Event Planners volunteered a day of their time renovating Fletcher Elementary school in San Diego. They painted a colorful mural, repaired and upgraded the teacher’s lounge, improved the lunch area landscaping and worked on the outdoor library seating area.
